Humph. The USA used to have an pretty good educational system...but quite frankly it sucks, and I'm right in the middle of it. I'm not a teacher, I'm considered "support staff" which sucks in its own right. I have a fucking 4 year degree and am in college getting my master's, yet I get to work and I hear on our two way radios "everyone get to you post!" (within the school building). ALSO, I hear from my boss, the principal the other day that if a kid (highschool) leaves the school before the bell rings and goes out to have a smoke or walk to the corner store, I have to go outside, off school grounds and bring them back inside!! FUCK THAT. Its not my job to chase after kids who dont want to be here!! I would much rather be working with the kids who want to be here. Youcant save every child, but the ones who are ready to elarn, we should be there for them..teahcing them every minute we have with them. I'm so sick of the administration at my work worrying about image and all the little bullshit things like making sure kids aren't in the wrong bathroom, and making shure kids dont have their headphones on. IN THE COURSE OF THIS LIFETIME, IS WEARING A HEADPHONE DURING PASSING TIME REALLY GOING TO HURT ANYBODY??? nope! I'm so over it! If we in education can stop pissing our energy away taking hats off and taking cell ophones away, and actually worry about teaching the worlkd to our students, we would have so muhc more buy-in from our students!! And It would let me actually want to be here! I hate education! Why in the hell did I go into it!!!
